Giant Letter Benches and a Signable Logo Sculpture for a Manufacturer's Grand Opening

Oversized dimensional letter benches in blue and red with a smooth painted finish, set up on a white floor during an event installation with plants and lounge seating nearby

For a manufacturer's grand opening party, an event planner asked us for two centerpiece builds: seating that spelled out a message in giant letters, and an oversized version of the company's logo that guests could sign. Both were built in our Michigan shop in about two weeks.

Giant letter benches

  • Message: IT'S US, five letter benches plus an apostrophe
  • Size: 7 feet long and 18 inches tall (standard bench seat height)
  • Construction: wood frame with internal supports 16 inches on center
  • Finish: painted to match the brand's Pantone colors
  • Investment: about $1,750 per letter

These weren't just props. Each letter was framed like furniture, with supports every 16 inches so guests could sit on them all night. We color matched the paint to the company's Pantone colors so the benches read as part of the brand, and they doubled as the photo spot of the party.

Large white dimensional logo letter C covered in guest signatures, raised on clear acrylic supports above a white base in an open office space

Signable logo sculpture

  • Size: 7 to 8 feet tall
  • Construction: lightweight foam core with aluminum composite faces
  • Base: wood, wrapped in aluminum composite
  • Detail: clear acrylic supports make the top and bottom sections look like they are floating
  • Investment: about $4,000

The logo was built from foam to keep it light, then faced with aluminum composite so guests could sign it with markers. Clear acrylic pieces hold the upper and lower sections apart, so the logo appears to float above its base. After the party, the company kept the signed sculpture on display in the building as a keepsake of opening day.

Why it worked

Pairing an interactive piece with functional seating gave guests something to do, somewhere to sit, and a reason to take pictures, all while keeping the brand front and center.
