The short version: A regional discount clothing chain needed 10,000 business-card-size acrylic shelf talkers and 1,000 slatwall business card holders for in-store pricing across its locations. Prince Fabrication produced the full order in-house in about three weeks, palletized it for freight, and packed separate boxes for direct shipment to individual stores.

The Client

The order came from the regional purchasing manager of a discount clothing chain with stores across her region. Every location needed a consistent, durable way to display pricing on shelves and slatwall — thousands of small acrylic pieces, all identical, all at once.

Her concern was the one every retail buyer has about a small fabricator: can a small shop actually handle chain-level volume?

The Order

Production: 10,000 Units in About Three Weeks

Once material arrived, every piece was cut and formed in our own shop in Otsego, Michigan — no subcontractors, no overseas lead times. Partway through the run we invested in an additional line bender specifically to increase throughput, an upgrade that now makes every large forming run faster.

Because fabrication happens in-house, quality control happens at the machine, not after a container ship: pieces were checked, stacked, and counted as they came off the line.

Packing, Freight, and Direct-to-Store Boxes

The bulk of the order was stacked, wrapped, and palletized for freight pickup to the chain's warehouse. Several cartons were packed separately and shipped directly to individual store locations — so those stores got their signage without waiting on warehouse redistribution.

The Result

The signage is rolling out across the chain's stores, and the purchasing manager told us her store teams love the shelf talkers — and that she's glad to have found a supplier she can come back to. A follow-up program with a buyer like this is exactly why we built our shop to handle volume.

Why this matters if you're a retail buyer: the biggest risk with a small vendor is capacity. This program is our answer — 10,000 units, formed and finished in-house, on a timeline we confirmed up front and hit. Client references available on request; we keep customer names private unless they've approved sharing.

Need Volume Without Big-Vendor Minimums?

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a small fabrication shop handle a 10,000-unit order?

Yes — this program is the proof. Cutting and forming in-house means we scale volume runs without subcontracting, and we confirm a realistic production window before you place the order.

Can you ship freight, or split boxes to multiple locations?

Both. Large runs are palletized for freight pickup, and we can pack separate cartons for direct shipment to individual store locations.

What's the lead time on a bulk custom signage run?

Depends on quantity and material availability — as a reference, this 10,000-unit run took about three weeks of production once material arrived. Smaller orders typically ship in 3–5 business days*.

Is there a minimum order?

No. Start with a sample, scale when it's right.
